She lives for her horses, and throughout the book they shine brightly as her reason to smile, helping to see the beauty in sometimes very difficult situations. The Horse Lady relates her joy of training and loving a wonderful team of horses throughout her life and invites the reader into her world of wonderful highs and desolate lows. Throughout the book her horses carry her along with their trust, love and pure spirit. The accomplishments of her horses, proves without a shadow of a doubt that if a horse is given a chance at life anything is possible. The ride records, the trainability to perform tricks and the ability to read her body language in times of need shows their unfailing generosity. Set out in the centre of New South Wales The Horse Lady gives an insight into the workings of large properties through her marriage into one of the larger farming families. This book tells of the long hours out working during the wheat harvest driving trucks, working in the shearing sheds as a roustabout and all other manner of outdoor life on a farm. Her children also feature throughout the second half of her book and are honest, loving and real country kids. They have been through some massive events throughout their short lives, and like her horses have the power to light up the greyest of her days and to keep her with the will to survive. My book is actually a true account of my early life until today, including darker events that are kept hidden, a broken marriage, depression, joy and happiness of beautiful family and always throughout my life – my horses. I am offering my book as fiction as I am just a country girl and nobody of consequence. Hopefully my book will change that!
